Said Benaissa

Said Benaissa was born in Errachidia, Morocco, on September 30, 1990. He received a Master/Engineering degree in telecommunications and network engineering from the National Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, Rabat, Morocco, in July 2014. Since, December 2014, he joined wireless, acoustic, environment and expert systems (WAVES) research group of information technology (INTEC) department at Ghent University, Belgium, where he performed research on Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) in collaboration with the Flemish Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO). He received an interdisciplinary PhD degree from Ghent University in May 2019. He has performed research on the characterization of wireless body area networks for cows. He has also performed research on the use of sensors (accelerometers and localization) for behaviour and health tracking of dairy cows based on machine learning algorithms. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at ILVO, where he is working on data analysis and machine learning.
